How do I control my smart TV using Ray?

If you have an Internet-connected “smart” TV with integrated streaming content services (e.g., Netflix, Pandora, etc.), Ray lets you access all those features too. Here's how:

Note This article features a Samsung Smart TV button. Your button may look different depending on the brand of your TV.

1. To begin, tap the Add button (+) at the bottom of the home screen.

2. This screen displays apps currently on your home screen and apps you can add to it. Swipe down and select "Smart TV" from the list.

3. Ray will ask you which device you use to access your Smart TV menu, hub, and apps. Tap the device to continue.

You can also teach Ray your Smart TV button. You will need your original TV remote. For some additional directions, Teach Ray a Home Screen Shortcut.

4. Tap the Smart TV button and look up at your TV screen to see if  Smart TV menu, hub, or apps appear.

5. If you see your Smart TV screen, tap the "Yes" button to continue and proceed to step 7.

If not, try it one more time. Check that there are no obstructions (furniture, etc.) between Ray and your device that might block the infrared signals. If you are unable to see your Smart TV screen, proceed to step 6.

6. To restart the process, tap the "Go back and try again" button.

You can also teach Ray your Smart TV button. You will need your original TV remote. For some additional directions, see Teach Ray a Home Screen Shortcut.

7. Your Smart TV button has now been successfully added. Tap the "All done" button to exit.
