None of the attempts of test buttons are working with my device

During setup, Ray tests a few sets of buttons to find the one that matches your device. If you run through all of them and none seem to work, Ray will offer you a few options. For problems with TV or set-top boxes, learn more at Ray needs my original remote to learn more about my setup.

Go back and try again

Tap this and you'll start the device connection process all over again. We recommend giving it one more try this way, following these tips:

  • Make sure you select your correct device brand in the first step
  • Check that there are no obstructions (furniture, etc.) between Ray and your device that might block the infrared signals
  • Tap each test button a couple times and keep a close eye on your device to see if it responds 

Fix manually
If you know your device's infrared code set and are comfortable testing it out on your own (rather than through Ray's guided setup process), you can tap this option. For some additional directions, see How do I manually assign the IR code set for my device?

Move on and fix later
Tap this and you'll skip the device and continue with the rest of Ray setup. Once you've got Ray up and running, you can add your device through Settings
