Ray does not turn my device back on during setup

At the end of setting up a device, if you tap the "My TV didn't turn on" button or "No" when Ray asks if your device turned on, Ray will walk you through some troubleshooting steps to try to get this sorted out.

Note: The images in this article show TV, but the steps are the same for all infrared-controlled devices, including: cable boxes, satellite receivers, A/V receivers, soundbars, DVD players and Blu-ray players. 

1. We'll first try giving the device a little more time to turn back on—some devices can take several seconds to power up. Make sure there's nothing between Ray and your device (furniture, etc.) that might be obstructing the infrared signal path.

Tap the "Turn it back on" button and wait a few moments to see if it works.

2. If it worked, great! Tap "Yes" and you'll continue with setup.

If your device is still not back on, tap "No."

3. Ray may offer another test, this time trying an alternative way to power on. Tap the "Turn it back on button" again.

If you do not see this screen, go to step 5.

4. Did your device come on this time? It if worked, super—tap "Yes" and you'll continue with setup.

Still no luck? Tap "No" and follow the next steps.

5.  At this point, one of two things may happen:

5.1 Ray may ask you to turn your device back on using your old remote control. Then tap the "Continue" button on Ray, and Ray will attempt to connect to it again.
